Bouktje Medema has a modern style of painting. Her work is colorful and radiant. The colours and composition are striking.

She apprenticed herself to visual artist Edith Stoel in The Netherlands, where she was dedicated to a broad range of painting techniques for 4 years. She attended another 4 years of art lessons from Pieter Swinnen, where she has developed her present unique style. Pieter Swinnen is an internationally well known artist who had joint exhibitions with Karel Appel, Corneille en Herman Brood.

The country of Spain is her primary source of inspiration where the number of invitations to exhibit her work is increasing.
